Today we had art but Mrs Royer asked me to work with autum instead of going to art. So we did everything on her card. She knows how to count to 15 but has trouble pronouncing the number 13. We try to tell her to remember to stick her tounge out but sometimes she forgets. Then we did the alaphabet. She did really well on that. We only say the letter not and she has to say the rest of the card. Also she knows the number 6 and where the touchpoints go. Royer said that she is going to have to move onto 7

We had game day Friday. We joined Mrs Burke’s class and we went over our parts of our 12 day of Christmas song. Each student did really well with holding their sign up at the right time. The only thing they needed help with was remembering to keep them up after their part. Then we picked instruments such as jingle bells,  maracas etc and sang Christmas songs with them. It was very very loud but the students really enjoyed it

Today I worked with Daniel. He wanted to work for rice bin so that’s what we did. We did everything on his card. He has to say the colors now instead of point to them. He still has to point to shapes tho. Also he knows how to count to 15 very well now. Other then sometime he messes up the numbers 13 14 and 15. When he gets them wrong  you have to count with him and emphasize the numbers he got wrong. Also when he gets one wrong you correct him right away. And then do airless teaching with him.

Today when I went in Royer had decided to switch about work time and quiet time because it’s easier to do work time when I’m there because it’s kinda like another teacher is there. So I worked with Tyler at first and we did his spelling. Where you say the word and then sound it out and he has to match the letters with the sounds your saying and spell the words. He did really well with them. Although the for his bs and ds mixed up a lot. After that we did a craft. I helped the students paint their paper plate because we’re making it into an ornament. I helped Abby finish hers because she wasn’t working properly.

Every Friday we have our fun Friday with Mrs.burke class across the hall. With Christmas coming up we are doing a play. There’s a video and it sings the 12 days of Christmas but in a kid version. Since there are 12 kids all together each student got a number and had to sing their part. Everyone did really well. They knew when to hold their card up and what to do. I was helping Abigail and she needed help at first but once she got the hang of it she was doing it by herself. Then at the end of the day we all played Christmas bingo together with our vocabulary words that were learning.

Today we skipped work time and went straight to the craft. We were painting a plate red because we’re turning them wreaths. First we always have to put paint shirts on and roll up the sleeves. Then we make sure the students are ready to get their cup of paint and brush. Once they’re ready we give them their supplies. Daniel and Autumn can normally paint the whole thing by than selfs. Bella Abby and gage needed help. They have trouble understanding how to hold the plate with one hand and paint with the other. So you have to hold and move the plate for them. Once everyone has their white spots covered then your finished.

Today Tyler wasn’t here so it was laid back. There were more teachers then students so I worked with Mrs Webb and gage. I normally don’t work with gage because he is so non verbal it’s hard for me to communicate with him. Mrs Webb was showing me how you put his vest on and off. And how he looks in the mirror and points to his parts of his face. Like his nose, mouth, ears etc. he also can count to 20. Mrs Webb has done a fantastic job with him and helping him talk. You have to be stern with him because sometimes he does goof off but in the beginning of the year he woundnt even talk but now he is talking so much more.

Today when I went we were doing quiet time so I sat down with autumn and she was doing what she normally does during this time. Cutting on lines. Cutting does a lot for children. It helps them with hand eye cordination. And also works their fine motor skills. Cutting if a lifetime skill. It also goes hand in hand with a lot of other activities like coloring in between the lines and so on. After that we moved to work time and I worked with Tyler. We did his spelling. So I looked at the list of words and would sound out the word and he would have to use the sounds of the letters in making and make the words I’m saying.

When I first went to class today I looked on the board and realized that we had art around 1:50. So before that we did a quick work time. I worked with Bella. Bella has been very tired lately and we aren’t sure why. She always acts like she wants to fall asleep while working. I try to keep her awake with lots of rewards. Then at 1:50 we all went to art. I sat beside Daniel and Abby. Daniel usually knows what he’s doing but still needs minor assistance. But Abby needs help with mostly everything she does. Today we were making a penguin. The thing we did today was rip up paper and glue them onto the paper. Abby needed help with ripping the paper and putting it on. But Daniel needed help only ripping the paper but not putting it on the paper
